CLAIRE E. TOTH, JD, MLT, CFP®
Claire E. Toth is Vice President and Chief Planning Officer of Point View Wealth Management an SEC registered investment adviser and part of Peapack Private, the wealth management division of Peapack-Gladstone Bank. Point View provides customized investment services to families, trusts and retirement plans. She advises clients on financial, estate, and retirement planning issues, from the most complex to the most basic.
Clients include presidents and other high-level executives of publicly traded companies, Senior Managing Directors of investment banks, and successful entrepreneurs. Ms. Toth has provided strategies for equity compensation, collaring restricted stock, managing SERP investments, and negotiating golden parachutes. Other focuses include divorce planning, elder abuse, and cyber fraud.
Prior to joining Point View, Ms. Toth was of Counsel to the law firm of Herold and Haines, P.A., in Warren, New Jersey. Her practice centered on tax and business planning for closely held businesses and their owners. Before that, Ms. Toth was a Branch Chief in the Office of Passthroughs and Special Industries with the IRS Chief Counsel in Washington. Ms. Toth is currently of Counsel to the Summit firm of Bourne, Noll and Kenyon.
Ms. Toth has been active in the ABA Tax Section and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She has written for a number of publications, including The Tax Lawyer, the Journal of Limited Liability Companies, Taxation for Accountants, and the Journal of Asset Protection. She speaks frequently before a variety of groups, ranging from the American Bar Association to the New York Society of CPAs. Ms. Toth co-authored the recently enacted legislation permitting single member LLCs in New Jersey. She is quoted regularly in periodicals such as Business News New Jersey and The Morris County Daily Record.
Ms. Toth received her A.B. and J.D. degrees from the University of Chicago, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She has an M.L.T. from Georgetown University and has received the Certified Financial Planner designation by the CFP® Board of Standards.
Active in the Summit community, Ms. Toth is Secretary of the Summit Historic Preservation Commission, Treasurer of Summit Downtown, Inc., and a board member of SAGE Eldercare, where she sits on the Finance and Major Gift committees. She is a member of the Finance Committees for Family Promise and St. Teresa of Avila Parish.
